The Joy That Is Mine Today

”A million tomorrows may all pass away,

Ere I forget, all the joy that is mine today.”

New Christy Minstrels, 1964

The pages of yesterday can be filled with success and fulfilled promises or failure and regrets.  The pen is in our hand. Every moment of our lives is precious and must not go to waste, even in this present difficulty.

Let go of yesterday.  In the movie, ‘Groundhog Day’ each morning when the alarm clock went off, it was still Groundhog Day.  Today and tomorrow never happened because the actor kept reliving yesterday.  It is just as absurd when we live our life stuck in the memories of yesterday.  Life is too short to live the same day twice.

Let's have hope, faith and the ability to assimilate the lessons that the experience of these last weeks and months has offered us about what is most important to us "today while the blossoms still cling to the vine."

“This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are past

and reaching for those things which are before.”

St Paul, Philippians 3:13
