February 25

Dear SJW Parishioners:

How did the first full week of Lent go?  Did you stick to your Lenten plans?  Was sacrifice and prayer and reform part of your daily routine?

This Sunday, the second Sunday of Lent, has Jesus on Mount Tabor.  He is TRANSFIGURED.  This is a foreshadowing of the Lord’s Resurrection.

Let’s focus on the word “Transfiguration.”

T       is for TRANSFORMED—will we allow ourselves to be transformed during this Lenten season?

R       is for REACH—do we reach for more of the Lord in our faith life?

A       is for AWE—are we in awe at how our Lord takes care of us?

N       is for NOTHING—do we let nothing stop us from praying each day?

S       is for SOUL—how do we take care of our soul?

F       is for FAITH—where are we growing in our faith?

I         is for IMMERSE—how do we immerse ourselves more & more in our baptismal faith?

G       is for GLAD—does our Catholic faith make us glad?

U       is for UNITE—do we unite our lives to God our Father?

R       is for RENEWAL—how is renewal part of our Lenten plans?

A       is for ATONE—will be atone for our sins through the Sacrament of Reconciliation this Lent?

T       is for TOUCH—how do we let Jesus touch our soul?

I         is for IMPROVING—are we improving at being the best we can be?

O       is for OPEN—do we open our hearts to the immensity of God’s love?

N       is for NICE—how nice do we consider being a disciple of Christ?

Your Pastor, Father Joe
