Dear Parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker:

This coming week has several important happenings.

During the 10:30am Mass on July 2nd is the blessing of the Catholic Heart Work Camp youth and adults who will be traveling next week, July 9th -14th.  These young people will be helping those in need in Huntingburg, IN for several days.  What a wonderful witness of their Catholic faith in action.  What a great time for them to shine as stewards of time and talent.  How proud we are of them, and how grateful we are to Dawn Roesch and the other adults for their chaperoning and assistance.  Let us pray for all of them!

This Tuesday is July 4th, that holiday in our country to celebrate who we are as citizens of the United States.  This day and each day we should be grateful for all the freedoms we enjoy here.  This day calls us to remind ourselves that we are not to take our freedoms for granted.  Many have given their lives so that we continue to enjoy independence, peace, and justice.  May our hearts be filled with gratitude for our country, and let us support always those who keep us safe - our military, first responders, and all others who work to protect us.

This Friday is first Friday, July 7th.  Once again, we will have Adoration from 7:15-8:15am and from 9:15-11:30am, ending with Benediction.  What a tremendous opportunity to come before the Lord in prayer and silence.  What an opportunity to get to know Him better.  What an opportunity to join with other parishioners in giving praise to the Lord in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.  It will be a time that uplifts you, draws you more in communion with Jesus, and fills you with peace for the rest of the day!

May you continue to enjoy these summer days, relishing the beauty of creation.  May you continue to deepen the faith that you have been given.  Enjoy each moment given to you!

Your Pastor,

Father Joe
