Dear SJW Parishioners:
Welcome to the 2nd Sunday and week of Lent! The time for change and reform continues to challenge us in our lives of faith. May we get to work this week on changing and reforming!
Every year the Catholic Church gives us the same Gospel for the 2nd Sunday of Lent, that of the Transfiguration of the Lord. Jesus is transfigured on that mountain, a foreshadowing of the Resurrection of Jesus. His suffering and death will lead to the glory of the Resurrection.
T Are we TRAVELING in the right direction this Lent?
R How do we truly REFORM our souls daily?
A Are we ALL in for being better disciples for Jesus?
N Will we rise as NEW and holier people come Easter?
S Are we willing to SACRIFICE?
F How have we grown in FAITH since last week?
I How can we be a better INSTRUMENT for the Lord?
G Is GOD #1 on our list of priorities?
U How do we USE our time for prayer?
R Are we committed to our RELIGION and living it out?
E Do we value the EUCHARIST more and more?
May the Transfiguration of Jesus trickle down into our lives this week through our being transfigured.
