November 30

Dear Parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  Yes, HAPPY NEW YEAR!  In the Catholic Church we enter the season of Advent.  Advent begins a whole new year in our liturgical calendar.  Each year we celebrate the life of Jesus when we gather at Mass.  From the prophetic promise of the Savior in the Old Testament, to the birth of that Savior and His life here on earth, to His ascension into heaven, our liturgical prayer enables us to relive in a beautiful way God’s salvific promise.

And we begin with Advent, the COMING TO of Jesus to earth……

A   is for ALWAYS being obedient to the Savior.

D   is for DEDICATION to our prayer life.

V   is for being VIBRANT in our Catholic faith.

E   is for the ELATION Jesus gives us in our souls.

N   is for NEVER doubting the value of the Mass.

T   is for TAKING time to just be with Jesus in silence.

May you all have a holy, blessed, uplifting, renewing Advent season.  Know of my prayers for each of you.  Let the Lord lead you closer to Himself every day.  May the next liturgical year fulfill you in abundance.

Your Advent Companion,

Father Joe
