November 10

Dear Parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker:

This Monday, November 11th, is VETERANS DAY in our country.  This holiday is a very special day for every American.  We remember ALL veterans who fought and served to preserve the priceless freedom that sets us apart from other nations.

Each citizen of our country should hold November 11th as a time to pray for those veterans who occupy the many VA hospitals in our states.  It is a time to pray for all those who are damaged emotionally and mentally from the scars of war and fighting.  It is a time to pray for those who live daily in pain and with handicaps.  It is a time to pray for the families who love them.  It is a time to pray for all those who continue to serve America so faithfully and proudly.

Let us never forget.  EVER.

V    is for the VALUE of each veteran.

E    is for the EVERLASTING effect of each veteran’s service.

T    is for the TESTAMENT to freedom of each veteran.

E    is for the EXCELLENT example given by each veteran.

R    is for the REAL patriotism of each veteran.

A    is for the AWESOMENESS of each veteran.

N    is for the NEED we have for the courage of each veteran.

S     is for the STRENGTH our country has gained from each veteran.

D    is for the DARING of each veteran.

A    is for the all-in ATTITUDE of each veteran.

Y    is for the YEAH that we say to each veteran.

May prayer be part of your day this Monday, and each day, for our VETERANS!

Your Pastor, Father Joe
