Dear Parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker:

Are you still feeling it?  Feeling what, you may ask?  The Easter Alleluia in your heart!!!  Just days ago we once again celebrated the great day of Resurrection, when our Lord who was crucified on the cross rose from the dead to give us life.  We now find ourselves living the 50 days of the Easter season.  During these days, the newness and beauty and love of the Easter Sunday event are to manifest themselves through our daily living.

That is what makes this time of year such a gift.  If you look outside, you will see new growth on the trees and springing forth from the ground.  Nature is coming alive again.  One is able to watch grass turn green, leaves return on the trees, flowers emerge from the soil, temperatures turn warmer.  Spring continues to spring forth right before our eyes!

What is happening in nature should be happening in our own hearts and souls.  The death of Lent is gone and the freshness of Easter is here.  Hopefully, we have shed the sin that was depriving our hearts from being life-giving.  Hopefully, we are now experiencing our souls warming more and more to the ways of the Risen Lord.  Hopefully, the beauty of the trees and flowers may be seen in the beauty of our actions with one another.  Our faith lives are to mirror the Resurrection event, the event that set the world ablaze with life which was not ever seen before---life conquering death forever!

Let us at SJW live Easter.  Let us celebrate the empty tomb.  Let us relish the miracle of the Resurrection.  Let us immerse ourselves in the life-giving waters of our own baptism.  Let us thank our Risen One for giving us hope and joy almost 2000 year ago on that glorious morning.  Let us challenge ourselves to make known to everyone we meet the fact that we are true believers in Christ, having no doubts whatsoever in His majesty.

Your Easter pastor,

Father Joe
