Dear Parishioners of SJW:

Another Easter week is upon us!  What a wonderful journey through this season of hope, joy, love, and peace.  The Lord Jesus, by his Resurrection, gave to the world and to each of us the promise of eternal life and salvation.  Can’t get much more from anyone at any time or in any place, wouldn’t you agree?

We have moved into the month of May.  This is a special month in devotion to our Blessed Mother.  During this time of Easter joy, of course we remember and celebrate the Risen Lord.  But, we must not forget His loving mom, Mary Most Holy.  She gave birth to Him.  She nurtured Him as He grew in mind, body, and spirit.  She fostered for Him a deep faith in God.  She hugged Him, kissed Him, cradled Him, assured Him.  She was there during the Way of the Cross and saw Him die before her very eyes.  She remained faithful throughout all her suffering and that of her Son.

During these May days, let us ask Mary’s intercession.  Let us pray the Rosary, that great prayer to Mary and to Jesus.  Let us implore the Blessed Virgin Mary to take our prayers to Jesus.  Let us be challenged to continue her example of obedience, sacrifice, faithfulness, dedication, humility, compassion.  This way, we will be those disciples of Christ, as was she.

May the HAIL MARY prayer be on our lips and in our hearts daily:

HAIL MARY, FULL OF GRACE, THE LORD IS WITH YOU.

BLESSED ARE YOU AMONG WOMEN, AND

BLESSED IS THE FRUIT OF THY WOMB, JESUS.

HOLY MARY, MOTHER OF GOD, PRAY FOR US SINNERS,

NOW AND AT THE HOUR OF OUR DEATH.

                                      AMEN.

Your Rosary-praying Pastor,

Father Joe
