St. Joseph the Worker

Dear Parishioners of SJW:

Welcome to the last week of January!  Where did the first month of 2024 go?  May this year continue to be one of blessing for you and your family.

This week across our nation is Catholic Schools Week.  Each year our Church celebrates the presence of one of its signature inventions, so to speak—the Catholic school.  Millions and millions of young people have been instructed in the ways of the Catholic faith, as well as in the other academic courses.  The discipline needed these days is evident in the moral and respectful structure, so often lacking in society today. 

How fortunate we are at SJW parish to have our Pre-School program.  We have the privilege of forming our 3 and

4 year-olds to be the best children that they can be.  They experience formation, community, joy, laughter, and Jesus each day they arrive at our school.  One of the greatest joys of my day is to visit the classroom and be with these wonderful children.  They give me energy, laughs, and joy beyond measure.

I want to thank our teacher, Jackie Viste, for her leadership and formation of our students.  She gives so much for their betterment, inside and outside the classroom.  Her heart and soul are poured out for our young people.

Thanks also to Judy Gartland and Melody Clark, our aides, who are so valuable to the well-being of our program.  They interact with the children very well and lead them to greater growth and knowledge.

A special thanks to our Pre-School Board for their service in helping our program throughout the year.  Their volunteering of their time and talent enable the “doors” to be open to our Pre-School classroom.  They have the best interests of each student in mind.

Thank you to the parents and grandparents for their support, volunteering, and presence.

AND, especially, thanks to our WONDERFUL STUDENTS!  Without them, we wouldn’t exist. 

May the Lord continue to bless your Pre-School.  May you be a great PR person for it, sharing its value with those you know and meet.  You can be the best promoters of our program through your encouragement of families sending their young ones to us.

There will be a special collection on Feb. 3/4 after the Masses.  Pre-School staff, Board members, and students will be in the vestibule collecting for the maintaining of our valuable opportunity for children ages 3 and 4.  Please be generous!
