Dear St. Joseph the Worker Parishioners:

This week is a very special one for us.  This Wednesday is our Feast Day, May 1st.  On that day we celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker.  What a wonderful time this entire week for us to remember our patron saint.  St. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus, was that man who raised Jesus along with the Virgin Mary, holding Him, teaching Him, guiding Him, loving Him.  He can be that model for each of us to follow as we live our faith.  Let us, bearing his name, live up to his example of being a faithful and dedicated disciple of the Lord.

May the following prayer be on our lips this Wednesday, May 1st, and each morning as we rise to another day of life:

PRAYER FOR ST. JOSEPH’S PROTECTION

 Oh, St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so prompt, so strong

before the throne of God,

I place in you all my interests and desires.

Oh, St. Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession,

and obtain for me from your Divine Son

all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power,

I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to most loving of fathers.

Oh, St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms;

I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart.

Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me and

ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath.

St. Joseph, patron of departing souls---pray for me.

AMEN.

Have a great St. Joseph the Worker day!  And thank you so much for all you have done for your pastor, another Joseph, who is privileged to share his name.

Fr. Joe
