The sacramental years for youth in our Faith Formation program are:
First Reconciliation – 2nd Grade
First Eucharist – 3rd Grade
Confirmation – 3rd Grade
For your child to receive the Sacraments, you must be a registered, active member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, and your child must attend Faith Formation sessions.
For First Eucharist, parents are asked, along with their child, to attend a small number of mandatory enrichment meetings outside of their Faith Formation classes. These enrichment activities complete the understanding and knowledge of the sacrament. Confirmation classes are offered outside of regular Faith Formation sessions and are mandatory for those wishing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Other opportunities to experience the sacraments:
Baptism - We ask that all parents seeking Baptism for a child first complete a Baptism Class offered every other month at St. Joseph the Worker Church. Please check our event calendar to see when the next class is scheduled, or call the parish office for dates and to register. Once the Baptism Class is completed, call Fr. Joe Molloy in the parish office (483-3772) to speak to the pastor and set up a time for your child's Baptism.
Reconciliation is offered by appointment. Contact Fr. Joe Molloy in the parish office (483-3772) to make an appointment.
Matrimony - if you are interested in being married at St. Joseph the Worker, we ask that you contact Fr. Joe Molloy in the parish office (483-3772) at least six months before you are planning to be wed.
Anointing of the Sick/Communion calls - please contact Sr. Judith Pfile in the parish office (483-3772) if you or a family member is in need. Anointing visits are also scheduled during the seasons of Advent and Lent, if possible.
Share the Word - Temporarily Suspended
After the opening prayer, children are invited to hear the First Reading and the Gospel in simple, relatable language. Readings are accompanied by singing, interactive dialogue, and other activities. Children return before the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
