What is Why Catholic?
Why Catholic? is a unique adult faith formation program that is solidly based on Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Why Catholic? encourages learning in a prayerful, yet relaxed small community setting. It offers a concrete approach to help adults deepen their Catholic faith and connect its teachings to their everyday lives.
Who can benefit?
• Catholics who want to deepen their faith
• Parents who want to pass on their faith to their children
• Catechists who want to enhance their faith
• Adult candidates and catechumens who want to learn the faith
• Young adults who want to explore their faith
• Parish organizations and staff who want to reflect on their faith
How can I get involved?
Join us in a small group setting! We will be discussing the Beatitudes and the Ten Commandments. We will meet for 6 weeks starting in October. Sign-up for this Fall session is during the weekend Masses on September 11 & 12, or mention your desire to any of the Why Catholic? team or St. Joseph's staff.
WHAT ARE LAST YEAR'S PARTICIPANTS SAYING?
"The people in my group were just wonderful, not just in discussing the week's topic, but in sharing their faith. It helped in ways I would not have imagined."
"Any good discussion always raises the opportunity for a deeper exploration of faith. We had many."
"For the past year, I have been blessed to co-lead a Why Catholic? group with my husband. The fellowship, sharing, and learning from this has deepened my Catholic faith experience. I look forward to our next sessions and encourage everyone to be a part of a Why Catholic? small group, even if you did not participate last year."
"I thought the Why Catholic? sessions were very valuable to our young adult group. It gave us the opportunity to learn more about the Catholic faith and do so with people our own age."

The Disciple's Prayer
Loving God and Father,
help us to be people of prayer,
committed to the person and
message of Jesus your Son.
Help us to grasp the integrity and
beauty of the truths of our faith and
the transforming power of your grace.
Nourish and strengthen us
as people of faith, disciples of Jesus,
committed to the mission of the Church
and eager to share the gospel without restraint.
Let our hearts burn within us as
we catch glimpses of your heart in Jesus,
for through him,
we know your loving plan for us.
We ask this through Jesus the Christ
who lives with you and the Holy Spirit
in one loving Trinity.
Amen.
