Lent is almost here!  But wait!  There’s still three weeks!  Didn’t we just finish Christmas?  For whatever reason and for every reason, Lent is our time as Christians.  We are being called by the church to change our life style, to quiet down and change our focus for 40 days.  We are given these  holy 40 days to soften our hearts to accept the hidden spiritual opportunities that surround us.  It is a time to turn (and return) ourselves to our God; to let go of selfish ways.  When we are able to push the busyness of life from our hearts, our God can enter in.  Need a Lenten resolution—there’s no need to wait:  make room for the Lord’s presence now and we will be ready for the ashes of repentance.
